For the two-day course individuals must hold the base machine competence from a nationally recognised accreditation scheme (for example CPCS or IPAF). Primary Objectives At the end of the training the delegate will be able to: Describe how the Excavator Crane is designed to function under normal operating conditions. Describe what equipment calibration certificates and checks are required to comply with the relevant rules and regulations Describe what preparatory checks need to be completed on the machine including; Pre-start checks/maintenance are complete/documented Machine/Crane Controller’s checklist is completed Describe the checks need to be completed on lifting accessories prior to use. Briefly describe the main functions of all relevant controls available to the Driver/Operator. Avoid the Excavator Crane being placed in an unstable condition. Must meet medical requiremments of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Medical Fitness Level 2. Must have a goof level of literacy to meet Entry Qualifications. Must Meet the requiremments of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol). Must hold Crane Controller Excavator Crane Competence and evidence at least 120 hours documented experience as a single lift Crane Controller. Primary Objectives At the end of the training the delegate will be able to: Describe how the Crane is designed to function under tandem lift conditions. Describe what equipment calibration certificates and checks are required to comply with the relevant rules and regulations. Avoid the Cranes being placed in an unstable condition. Demonstrate their ability to read a work / Lift plan and communicate its content effectively. Have a good understanding of mathematical skill (equivalemt to basic GCSE level) Have good working knowledge of excel and word. Have passed the pre-course assessment and be able to demonstrate this to the trainer; Have read the lift planning appreciation presentation Must hold a valid PTS. Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/00124 Medical Fitness Level 4. Must Meet the requiremments of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol). Before any training takes place delegates will be required to successfully complete the OTP Lift Planning– Single Lift pre-course assessment. If the delegate is unsuccessful during this pre-course assessment delegates will not be permitted to continue into further stages of training. Delegates will be able to reapply for training at a later stage once they are confident that they will be able to successfully complete the pre-course assessment again. Personal Track Safety	OTP Other	PTS	2	Course Information Pre-requisites The following requirements must be met for this course to run to Network Rail Standards: Must be a minimum age of 16. Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements. Make necessary arrangements for Knowledge Assessments to be read to support those who have difficulty with reading. Meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol). Must have successfully completed the e-learning training and assessment prior to attendance Must have sufficient command of English language, and of the English language as detailed in Network Rail Company Specification NR/S/CTM/021 (Competence & Training in Track Safety) Primary Objectives - At the end of the training the delegate will be able to: Demonstrate their ability to interpret correctly the Rule Book GE/RT 8000 Series or Guide to Personal Track Safety or PTS Key Point Card NR9922 and relevant local instructions when required to go on or near the line. The following requirements must be met for this course to run to Network Rail Standards:

Must be a minimum age of 16.
Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements.
Make necessary arrangements for Knowledge Assessments to be read to support those who have difficulty with reading.
Meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
Must have successfully completed the e-learning training and
assessment prior to attendance
