Pre-requisites
- You must have the passed the relevant CITB Health and Safety Test within 2 years of the CPCS test.
Primary Objectives -
To provide theory and practical training in operating a telehandler to enable the candidate to competently and safely operate the machine. Course will include:
- Correct machine operation
- Understanding different loads
- Understand names, components and terminology
- Site the machine safely and efficiently for use
- Correct maneuvering of machine
- Understand the capabilities, purposes and limitations of each machine
- Follow all necessary safety precautions
- Understand how to load and transport materials
- The effects of load size, weight and ground conditions when lifting
- Pre-use and shutdown checks
- Lifting and traveling with under slung loads
